A luxury Innova car was purchased by the Director General of Health, while 22 Maruti Ciaz cars and 13 Boleros were purchased, out of which the total number is 36. Seven of these cars are being used in the Directorate General of Health at the post of Additional Director General and Director of Finance, while two cars have been given to the Health Directors of Garhwal and Kumaon Division. Apart from this, CIO cars have also been given to CMOs of 13 districts, while 13 Bolero cars have been given to 13 districts for assistance in surveillance.

RTI activist Ravi Shankar Joshi says that buying luxury cars is a clear misuse of government money. Joshi says that instead of expensive cars, even cars of lower price could be purchased.
