The shooting was taking place on Saturday near the Punjab Bagh area in Patiala. The protesting farmers insisted that Jahnavi Kapoor should make a statement in support of the farmers who are agitating against the new agricultural laws. One protester said, ‘We had already told them that they will not allow the shooting of the film here. But he still shot. We stopped it again today.
He said, ‘We have no complaint against any person. If she (actress) gives a statement in support of farmers only once, then we will let her shoot. A police officer said that the shooting was stopped for some time. He said that it was later restored.
Earlier on 23 January, a group of farmers stopped the shooting of this film in Patiala. Earlier this month, farmers in Fatehgarh Sahib’s Bassi Pathan also stopped the shooting of the film for some time, demanding the actress to give a statement in his favor. Significantly, thousands of farmers from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh have been camping on Delhi’s borders for several weeks, demanding repeal of new agricultural laws and legal guarantee on the minimum support price of crops.
