The DGP of Uttarakhand has given strict instructions to all police officers.
Uttarakhand Police will scrutinize the records of the person on social media at the time of passport application, arms license and job verification.
It is often seen that many people post several anti-national posts on social media such as Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp, now strict steps are being taken to curb them. Uttarakhand police will take more strict action against those who post on social media. Although earlier only a lawsuit was filed under the IT Act, but now if someone writes something against the country on social media, then it can be very heavy for them. Not only this, the police can deny such posters from passports to arms licenses and jobs.
DGP Ashok Kumar said this
DGP Ashok Kumar said that if anyone applies for passport or arms license, then the report of his social media account will also be given. Earlier, only information about the cases filed was given. If any such post or comment has been made by them, it will be recommended to cancel his application by putting a negative report on it. Instructions have been given to all police officers in this direction. It is clear from this that now the Uttarakhand Police will take strong action against the anti-national elements.
