new Delhi. This time the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) budget (CBI Budget 2021), which is investigating many famous cases related to corruption, has been reduced. The CBI has received Rs 835.39 crore for the next financial year budget (Union Budget 2021-22), which is marginally less than Rs 835.75 crore given as per revised estimates of 2020-21. The CBI had registered Rs 67,000 crore bank fraud cases last year.

CBI initially got Rs 802.19 crore in last year’s budget. Later in the revised estimates for 2020-21, this amount was increased to Rs 835.75 crore. According to the budget presented on Monday by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the agency has been allocated Rs 835.39 crore to complete its tasks in 2021-22. This is 36 lakh rupees less than the allotted amount of last year. 786.08 crore was allocated to CBI in the financial year 2019-20.

The finance minister said in the beginning of his budget speech that the government announced Rs 27.1 lakh crore as a self-sufficient package to deal with the Kovid-19 epidemic. According to tradition, the Finance Minister met the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan before going to Parliament.

Traditionally, copies of the budget are brought to the Parliament premises before the arrival of the Finance Minister, but this year due to the Kovid-19 protocol, no documents have been printed.
