new Delhi. On Monday, the Trinamool Congress targeted the central government over the general budget and said that it is a 100 percent ‘no-vision’ budget whose theme is ‘Sell India’ (sell India). Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the general budget for 2021-22 in the Lok Sabha after which the Trinamool Congress’s response came.
Rajya Sabha member of Trinamool Congress Derek O’Brien said, “India’s first paperless budget is also a 100 percent visionless budget. The theme of this fake budget is to sell India. “He said,” Railways (sold out, airports) sold, ports (sold), insurance companies (sold), PSUs: 23 sold. “
The Trinamool Congress MP claimed that the common man and farmers have been ignored in the budget and it will make the rich and the rich and poor poorer, while the middle class has got nothing in it.
Giving the statistics of construction of rural roads in West Bengal, he said, “Rural roads: As of 2011 there were 39,705 km of rural roads, 88,841 km of rural roads were constructed between 2011-20”. Derek O’Brien said that rural roads West Bengal ranks first in the case. He said, “West Bengal did it yesterday, the central government is talking only today.”
Defense Minister and many BJP leaders appreciated the budget
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday lauded the Union Budget presented by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament, saying that it is for a “self-reliant India” and it will strengthen the economy. Many other leaders of the ruling BJP appreciated the general budget, welcoming some other announcements including capital expenditure, tax exemption for senior citizens (above 75 years) and incentives for start-ups.
BJP General Secretary Bhupendra Yadav said that this budget will give a lot of strength in the infrastructure, agriculture and health sectors of India. Praising the budget, party spokesman Shahnawaz Hussain said that it emphasizes home for all. He said that this budget is sensitive according to the needs of different sections of the society. BJP leader Jyotiraditya Scindia said that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented a framework in a planned way to bring the economy back on track. He tweeted, “Looking at the future, the budget has been prepared. This is in the direction of the government’s promise of an economy of five thousand billion US dollars.
