History of world cancer day
World Cancer Day was established by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) in the year 1993 i.e. World Cancer Day was first celebrated by the UICC in Geneva, Switzerland. However, some other major cancer societies, treatment centers, patient groups and research institutes also helped to organize it. According to the information, around 12.7 million people were battling cancer at that time and every year about 7 million people were dying due to cancer.
