
The number of subscribers under the Atal Pension Yojana rose by 31.17 per cent to 2.65 crore in January 2021.
According to PFRDA, the number of central government employees under NPS increased by 3.74 percent to 21.61 lakh in January 2021.
PFRDA said in a statement on Friday that on an annual basis, it represents an increase of 21.63 percent. According to PFRDA figures, the number of subscribers under the Atal Pension Yojana increased by 31.17 per cent to 2.65 crore in January 2021 from 2.02 crore a year ago.

According to the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority, the number of central government employees under the NPS increased by 3.74 percent to 21.61 lakh in January 2021 while the state government employees grew by 7.44 percent to 50.43 lakh. Under NPS, the number of subscribers in all the citizen category increased by 31.72 per cent to 14.95 lakhs while in corporate sector it increased by 17.71 per cent to 10.90 lakhs. The number of subscribers under this at the end of January 2021 was 43.07 lakh. NPS Lite is designed keeping in mind those who are financially weak.

According to the PFRDA, the total assets under pension management stood at Rs 5,56,410 crore as on 31 January 2021, indicating a 35.94 percent increase on an annual basis.
