The rage in the Uttarakhand Congress has neither stopped nor diminished.
Uttarakhand Congress: The bickering in Uttarakhand Congress has come to the fore. With the latest tweet by former CM Harish Rawat, the matter has caught more eye. Rawat questioned his opponents and said that those who have not been able to go out of their assembly for campaigning in the last assembly elections want me to account for the loss of 59 seats.
In Kichha, he was able to go only during nomination, whereas in Haridwar Rural seat, he did not go in campaign even for one day. In both the seats, Harish Rawat had entered the electoral arena as the Chief Minister and he had to taste defeat in both the seats. His opposition leaders within the Congress have repeatedly said that in the 2017 assembly elections, the slogan of ‘Everybody wants, Harish Rawat’, but the people of this slogan completely blew the air.
While being the CM, Rawat himself lost from both the seats, as well as the party’s worst performance ever in Uttarakhand. In the last assembly elections, the Congress was able to win only 11 out of 70 seats. Former CM Harish Rawat, while targeting his opponents, asks, “What is the reason that is the expert of electoral victory, the Congress has been losing seats all around them since 2007?”
It is clear from Rawat’s latest tweet that the rage in Uttarakhand Congress is neither stagnant nor reduced. Harish Rawat has also patted Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Harrawat on relief work in Chamoli disaster. It is believed that repeatedly praising the Trivendra government is also part of Harish Rawat’s strategy to pressure the Congress high command.
