Ecuador News: 33 people died in Qinaka prison in southern Ecuador. At the same time, 21 people died in Guacquil and eight in Latakunga.

Quito (Ecuador). In Prisons of three cities of Ecuador, 62 prisoners were killed in a quarrel between rival groups and trying to escape from the prison. The officers provided this information.

Prison Director Edmundo Moncayo said in a press conference on Tuesday that the help of 800 police officers is being taken to restore control over the situation here. Since the clash started on Monday, hundreds of officers of strategic units have been deployed here.

He said that the two groups were trying to establish their ‘criminal dominance within the jail’ and on Monday, police officers started a campaign to locate the weapons here, after which there was a clash.

Moncayo told that 33 people died in the prison of Qinaka in southern Ecuador. At the same time, 21 people died in Guacquil and eight in Latakunga. He told that 70 percent of the total prisoners in the country’s jails are in these jails.
