Soon, DTC will start running 1000 AC low floor CNG buses (CNG Buses) as well as 300 electric buses on Delhi roads.

New Delhi. Soon, DTC will start running 1000 AC low floor CNG buses (CNG Buses) as well as 300 electric buses on Delhi roads. The decision was ratified in a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Transport Corporation of Delhi chaired by Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot on Monday. The DTC Board has approved the funds for the purchase of 1000 AC low floor CNG ((BS-VI) buses in Delhi. The Board has approved insurance funds for the annual maintenance of buses for 12 years up to 7,50,000 km per bus. Also approved. These new low floor CNG buses will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities like real-time passenger information system, CCTV, panic button, GPS. The facilities of disabled passengers have also been taken special care in these buses.

Gratuity limit increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh
In another important decision related to the welfare of DTC employees, the board approved raising the limit of gratuity from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh. This step will benefit all DTC employees and will also increase their retirement benefits.

Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot of the board meeting said, ‘We have approved the purchase of 1000 low floor CNG buses as well as funds for comprehensive annual maintenance of these buses. This decision will help in reducing the downtime of the buses as well as improve the passenger experience further.
