The central government has proposed to privatize many banks in the country, against which a bank strike has been announced, so now you do not go to the bank on Monday and Tuesday.

Let us tell you that many PSU banks of the country including SBI are joining this strike. All India Bank Employees Association -AIBEA General Secretary CH Venkatachalam had claimed that about 10 lakh bank employees would join the strike.

It was announced in the budget
In fact, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said while announcing the Union Budget that the government has decided to privatize 2 public sector banks and one insurance company this year, due to which 9 unions under the banner of United Forum of Bank Union on 15 and 16 March Has announced a strike across the country.

14 public banks have been merged so far
In the year 2019 itself, the central government has sold majority share of IDBI Bank in LIC. With this, I have merged 14 public banks in the last 4 years. At present, there are 12 government banks in the country. After that their number will be reduced to 10. Two banks will be privatized in the fiscal year 2021-22.

Who will join the strike?
The members of UFBU include All India Bank Employees Association -AIBEA, All India Bank Officers Confederation (All India Bank Officers Confederation -AIBOC), National Confederation of Bank Employees – (NCBE) , All India Bank Officers Association -AIBOA and Bank Employees Confederation of India -BEFI.
