New Delhi. The government has started inviting applications for a large-scale second-stage electronics manufacturing under the Production Linked Incentive scheme. Under this phase, the government’s focus will be on some electronic components such as motherboards, semiconductor devices, etc.

According to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Electronics and IT, the applications under this scheme will be made by 31 March. This date can be extended even further.

PLI scheme of second round will be 4 yearsAccording to an official memorandum released on March 11, “Applications have been started under the second round production linked incentive scheme. The second round of PLI will be a four-year plan. Under this, incentives will be given from April 1, 2021. ”

Companies will invest 11 thousand crore rupees in the first round

Under the first round plan, applications were taken till 31 July. Foxconn, Wistron and Pegatron, which manufactures contracts for Apple, besides Samsung and local companies Lava, Optimus, Dixon, etc. participated in this round. These companies have committed investment of over Rs 11,000 crore.
