It will also be decided on May 2. Ranjit Rawat of Congress has been MLA from 2002 to 2012 on Sult assembly seat of Almora district. In 2012, Surendra Singh Jeena of BJP (BJP) defeated Ranjit Rawat by more than five thousand votes. After this, Surendra Singh Jeena won elections in 2017 too, but in November last year Surendra Singh Jeena died.

Therefore, the bye election is going to be held on the Salt Assembly seat. Voting is to be held exactly one month later on April 17 and this has become a big challenge for the BJP. For both newly appointed heads of government, Tirath Singh Rawat and state president Madan Kaushik in the organization, this by-election will be a test in which there is no space left for anyone but them.
