In order to reduce the damage caused by disasters in Uttarakhand, State Disaster Management Minister Dhan Singh Rawat has decided to provide disaster management training to all Gram Panchayat members and members of organizations like Yuva Mangal Dal.

Dehradun. Women Mangal Dal, Youth Mangal Dal, Youth Mangaldal, Forest Guard, Village Guard and Panchayat members will be trained in disaster management in all 7200 gram panchayats of Uttarakhand. Disaster kits will also be made available to trained youth. Apart from this, disaster management certificate courses will also be conducted in the universities and state colleges of the state. This decision was taken by Higher Education and Disaster Management Minister Dhan Singh Rawat in a review meeting of the Department of Disaster Management and Rehabilitation. He informed that soon the disaster management and rehabilitation department will also be sanctioned the structure. So that the department can work to its full potential at the time of disaster.

Rawat told that in the coming time, a plan for rehabilitation will be prepared after surveying experts in the entire state by identifying the disaster prone areas and villages. For this, a standing committee of expert scientists of USAC, Wadia Institute and GSI Institutions will be formed. From time to time, after studying the disaster prone areas across the state, the government will give reports and suggestions related to the disaster.

18 crores given for Kumbh

The Disaster Management Minister also instructed departmental officials to organize a national seminar on disaster management and rehabilitation under the auspices of USAC before 31 March. All the District Magistrates, District Disaster Officers and Specialists will be invited to this seminar. After this, based on the geographical conditions of the state, a report will be prepared based on the suggestions made in the seminar. The departmental minister also approved an amount of 18 crores for Haridwar Kumbh from the disaster head. This amount will be spent on RTPCR investigation of officers and security forces, police and health workers posted in Kumbh. Read also-
