In a statement issued by LIC Housing Finance, the benefit of the ‘Home Senior’ scheme will be given to the employees and pensioners covered under the Defined Benefit Pension Scheme (DBPS).

New Delhi. NBFC company LIC Housing Finance has introduced a new home loan scheme. The name of this particular scheme is ‘Griha Varishth’. Under this, the elderly will be given a rebate of six monthly installments (EMIs) of home loans.

When will EMI be waived
The statement issued by the company said that the benefit of ‘Home Senior’ scheme will be given to the employees and pensioners covered under the Defined Benefit Pension Scheme (DBPS). There is an additional benefit offered under the EMI exemption scheme. Under this scheme, the elderly taking home loans will not have to pay the 37th, 38th, 73rd, 74th, 121st and 122nd monthly installments. This installment will be adjusted against the outstanding principal amount.

The term of the loan will be up to the age of 80 years or maximum 30 years, whichever is earlier.

LIC Housing Finance CEO Y, Vishwanath Gaur said that Griha Sr. has progressed well since its launch in July 2020 due to its unique features. The company has disbursed about 15,000 loans amounting to Rs 3,000 crore. In this, customers will get six EMI discounts.
