People coming from other states will be allowed to participate in the flag-hoisting and organizing of the fair only when they have a negative report of the RT-PCR test.

Dehradun. Every year in Dehradun, there is a world famous flag fair (Jhanda mela). This time this fair is going to be held on 2 April. In such a situation, the Dehradun district administration has issued several guidelines in view of the increasing cases of Covid-19. These guidelines include several instructions issued by the Government of India and the Uttarakhand Government.

The administration has said that only the number of people required for the ascension of Jhanda Sahib and the organizing of the fair should be collected. Unnecessary crowds should not be collected. The administration has directed that this time the swing will be banned in the event of the fair. People coming from other states will be allowed to participate in the flag-hoisting and organizing of the fair only when they have a negative report of the RT-PCR test. Without negative report, any person will be barred from entering the fair site.

Apart from these, the Dehradun district administration has instructed to take many precautions regarding the fair. The district administration has issued a clear guideline regarding the fair.

Other important instructions are as follows –

Wearing masks will be mandatory for the devotees visiting the fair. Passengers without masks will not be allowed entry.

In order to maintain physical distance (social distancing) among all the devotees who came to the fair, the organizers would have to make visible circles. It will be the responsibility of the organizers to follow the rules.

Women above 60 years, men, children below ten years of age or people suffering from serious illness have been asked not to attend this fair and the program to be held here.

Use the social networking site to connect the devotees / associates with the ascent of the fair organizer Jhanda Sahib, so that there is no unnecessary congestion.

For the prevention of infection of Kovid-19, necessary information, guidelines, control room number and posters, banners etc. should be put up for awareness.

Arrangements for thermal scanning, sanitizer etc. should be ensured at the entrance of the fair. The format of the fair should be shortened and its duration should be reduced.

Distribution of food items etc. should be avoided in the fair. If necessary, disposable glasses and utensils should be used to distribute food and drinking water.

The organizers should encourage all devotees, tourists, customers to download the Arogya Setu app on smart phones at the venue.

Proper arrangements for dustbin etc. should be made by the organizers at the fair. Do not spread garbage etc. here and there and use garbage.

Organizers will be responsible for ensuring proper compliance of Kovid’s standards and guidelines at the venue and sanitization should also be done at fixed timelines.
