Gudi Padwa festival is celebrated with great pomp in Maharashtra. Madhuri Dixit, remembering the old days, praying for better days soon after the outbreak of Corona outbreak this year.
Speaking to the Times, Madhuri Dixit said that ‘Gudi Padwa is our new year. It symbolizes the arrival of spring and new beginning. This day is very auspicious. My mother is from Ratnagiri (Konkan region of Maharashtra) and my earliest memories of Gudi Padwa are related to my same city. My maternal grandfather’s house is in Ratnagiri. I remember that I used to reach my maternal grandmother’s house in Ratnagiri late in the evening and our Gudi Padwa morning was done by the cuckoo’s burning. ‘
She says fire- ‘It was all very beautiful. If you are born and brought up in the city, then everything in that place means a lot to you. With our cousin, we used to go out choosing bamboo for Gudi, then worshiped Gudi with flowers and items made of sugar, bringing Gudi down when the sun set.
Madhuri today told that she will spend the day with her family. With this, the actress says that ‘Kovid-19’ has kept life busy. People are facing many kinds of difficulties. This is a prayer to God that the coming year should be full of peace, unity and harmony. I request everyone to wear masks and follow social distancing.
