She is playing the lead in Paoli Dam, a mystery-thriller drama Raat Baaki Hai. She is playing a character named Vasuki in this, so she has not spoken openly about her character. ‘Raat Baaki Hai’ will be a G5 stream on 16 April.
Actress Pauli Daam says that she always wants to keep the viewpoint of women in cinema and her recent films show this thinking on the screen. Dum, who worked in Bengali and Hindi cinema, had two films in 2020, ‘Kali’ and ‘Bulbul’, which were well received by both critics and audiences.
In ‘Bulbul’, where the actress has played the role of a widow, in ‘Kali’, she was playing the role of a mother fighting against corruption to save her son. Speaking to PTI on ‘Zoom’ from Kolkata, Pauli Daam said, ‘I always wanted to do the same. It is not that I started getting such strong characters right from the beginning of my career. In mainstream cinema, you can do only a limited number of characters. You think the same way. But I wanted to do films where women have leading roles, where they are in strong roles, be decision makers. ‘
Daam started his career in 2006 and after 3 years he gained popularity with Gautam Ghosh’s Bengali drama ‘Kalbela’ based on the Naxalite movement. At present, Pauli Daam’s thriller film Raat Baqi Hai is going to come on G5. It stars Anoop Soni and Rahul Dev in the lead roles.(With PTI input)
