Chaitanya India Finance, the firm of Flipkart co-founder Sachin Bansal, has applied to open a bank with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
On Thursday, the name of Sachin Bansal is also included in that list of RBI, in which the Reserve Bank has applied for the license of Universal Bank or Small Finance Bank. However, Sachin Bansal had also said earlier that he is applying for banking license. Significantly, while Sachin Bansal was earning a name in the online shopping world, he was also engaged in efforts to gain a foothold in banking. Last year, he bought Chaitanya India for Rs 739 crore.

Bansal has a name in the world because of startups like FlipkartSachin Bansal is not only discussed, but he has done so much work that he gets mentioned on his own. Sachin Bansal started Flipkart as a startup in 2007 with Rs 4 lakh lakhs. By the time Walmart bought a 77 per cent stake in Flipkart in 2018, by the time Flipkart was worth $ 20 billion, or about Rs 1.30 lakh crore.

Flipkart was created after leaving Amazon’s job
Born in the business family of Chandigarh on August 5, 1981, Sachin Bansal studied at IIT Delhi and obtained a computer engineering degree in 2005. After working for TechSpan for a few months, he started working as a software engineer at Amazon Web Services in 2006, but did not mind. In 2007, he said goodbye to Amazon and started his business. Initially, he started an online bookstore with Binny Bansal, which was a book store like Amazon, from where people used to order books. Gradually, Flipkart went down in different segments and its value also increased.

Apart from Sachin Bansal’s Chaitanya India, UAE Exchange and Financial Services, Repco (REPCO) Bank, Pankaj Vaish & Others, V Soft Technology, Calicut City Service Cooperative Bank, Akhil Kumar Gupta and Dwara Regional Rural Financial, among others applying for banking license Services are also included. Of these, V Soft Technology, Calicut City Service Cooperative Bank, Akhil Kumar Gupta and Dwara Regional Rural Financial Services have applied for the license of Small Finance Bank.
