Travel service provider Thomas Cook India has reported an increase in its consolidated net loss to Rs 20.23 crore in the March quarter of the year 2020-21 due to the pandemic.

New Delhi. Travel service provider Thomas Cook India has reported an increase in its consolidated net loss to Rs 20.23 crore in the March quarter of the year 2020-21 due to the pandemic. Thomas Cook said in a regulatory filing late on Thursday that the company had reported a net loss of Rs 13.90 crore in the same period a year ago.

The company’s total income from operations stood at Rs 401.64 crore for the quarter under review as against Rs 1,109.02 crore in the same period a year ago.

Thomas Cook India Limited (TCIL) said that in the year 2020-21, the company has reported a net loss of Rs 295.19 crore this time as against a loss of Rs 17.65 crore in the previous year. It said that the total income from operations during the year stood at Rs 945.74 crore as against Rs 6,948.30 crore in the year 2019-20.

TCIL Chairman and Managing Director Madhavan Menon said, we are already seeing positive signs with the reduction in infection rate globally and the reopening of travel in select countries. Well, the signs of resumption of business for India internationally are probably around the third quarter of 2021 22.
