Buenos Aires. Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Angel Di Maria have been named in Argentina’s squad for the Copa America football tournament. The Argentine national team has not won a major tournament since 1993 and will start as a strong contender for the title in the Copa America.
Argentina have not picked striker Luca Ocampos and defender Juan Foyth in their 28-man squad for the tournament in Brazil. Both of them had been regular members of the team since Lionel Scaloni took over as coach in 2018.
Argentina will play their first match in Group A against Chile in Rio de Janeiro on Monday. Uruguay, Bolivia and Paraguay are also included in Group A. Argentina’s team is as follows:
