Amidst rising prices, this petrol pump is giving free three liters of petrol and diesel to auto rickshaws

New Delhi. Fuel price hike continues in the country. Prices that are not taking the name of being low. Meanwhile, if someone tells you that three liters of petrol is being given to you for free at the petrol pump, then you will surely consider it a joke. But it is true that a fuel station Kudukoli pump at Perla in Enamakaje gram panchayat of Kasaragod district of Kerala is giving three liters of free fuel to all auto rickshaw drivers. The pump announced a two-day offer before giving both petrol and diesel free from 6.30 am on Monday. Fuel station manager Siddiq Madumool said 313 auto rickshaws were counted at the pump before it closed at 9.30 pm.

CA is the owner of petrol pump in Abu Dhabi

According to the New Indian Express, the pump is owned by Siddiq’s elder brother Abdullah Madumool, a chartered accountant in Abu Dhabi. Abdullah said that the decision to make fuel free was taken to help the auto rickshaw drivers under the lockdown and the daily hike in fuel prices. Siddique said “this was done in the form of charity and not to promote the business.” He told that the auto rickshaws had come from Sharadka, Perla, Badiyadka in Karnataka, as well as from Neerchal, 15 km away, to take advantage of the offer.

Sanjeev Maipadi, who reached here after covering a distance of 15 km from Neerchal, told the newspaper, “I have been driving auto for 37 years, but no pump has ever given petrol and diesel for free, but I still get 2 liters free. Sanjeev says that apart from the hike in fuel prices, the insurance premium for a new autorickshaw has gone up from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000 now.

First time heard that someone is giving petrol for free

Udayakumar S, an autorickshaw driver, praised Abdullah and said, “I know him personally. He does many charities like distributing food kits to the poor, but this is the first time I have heard of someone giving free petrol. Had he been in Kerala today, we auto drivers would garland him and give a hero’s reception.”

Prices hiked again after a day’s pause

Here, after a day’s pause, petrol and diesel prices were again hiked on Wednesday, June 16, taking auto fuel prices across the country to historic highs. Prices also reached new highs in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. Petrol became costlier by 22 to 25 paise, while diesel rose by 12 to 14 paise per liter, according to the new prices, according to rate notifications from state-owned fuel retailers.
