New Delhi: Wipro CEO Thierry Delaporte believes that the growth of the information technology (IT sector) industry will largely depend on the next generation of technologies and services. He said that areas like data, cloud and cyber security will see tremendous growth. Wipro has completed several acquisitions in markets like the US and Europe during the second half of FY 2020-21. This has helped the Bengaluru-based company strengthen its local presence and service offerings.
“We know that the next generation of technologies and services will drive the growth of the industry,” Delaport said in a note to the company’s annual report for the fiscal year 2020-21. In such a situation, we will see tremendous increased growth in areas like digital, cloud, data, engineering, cyber security.

Delaporte said the cloud is definitely the focus of consumer conversations today. It is not only becoming the preferred operating platform, but has become a fundamental part of the digital transformation. He said that today new work models like ‘Work from Anywhere’ or Crowdsourcing have come into existence. In such a situation, cyber security is a top priority for companies. He said that Wipro is fully helping its customers in IT transformation. Delaporte took over as the CEO of Wipro in July last year.
