New Delhi. The country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India has said that it will increase the price of its cars from July. The company said in a regulatory filing that it has become necessary to pass on the burden of increasing cost to the customers. The price hike will be different for different models. The company said in a regulatory filing on Monday, “The cost of the company’s vehicles has increased in the last one year. Due to this, it has become necessary for the company to pass on some of the additional cost to the customers by increasing the price.”

Maruti had increased the price in April also – Maruti plans to increase the price in the second quarter and will vary according to the models. Earlier in April, Maruti had increased the price of its cars. Earlier this year, the company had told that its input cost has increased. The company had last increased the price of cars by up to Rs 34,000.

There will be a boom in the auto sector – Automobile companies have started increasing production after the reduction in corona cases and the opening of lockdown in most states. Automobile companies expect a boom in business with the opening of dealerships in the states.

The exports of these companies were also affected due to the lockdown. A Maruti Suzuki spokesperson said that production has started in the company’s plants and safety protocols have been implemented for this.
