New Delhi. Electric vehicles and self-driving vehicles are constantly making headlines around the world in recent times. Meanwhile, the world’s first flying race car has taken off for the first time. The Australian-based company is promising to give the world a flying race car that will be able to run on a racing track and in the air alike. Alauda Aeronautics recently test-fired the Alauda Mk3 flying car in southern Australia, which is being discussed around the world.

The Alauda Mk3 flying car is part of the Airspeeder EXA series of three unmanned flying car races to be held globally in 2021. The Alauda Mk3 was introduced to the world in February this year and this time it has been seen in flight for the first time.

The Alauda Mk3 is controlled remotely through a simulator. The Airspeeder EXA is expected to help develop the technical test-BED and pilot skills for future flying cars.

The Alauda Mk3 is inspired by the design of racing cars of the 1950s and 1960s. It is capable of electric vertical take-off and landing. The flying car weighs only 130 kg and has a carrying capacity of up to 80 kg. The Alauda Mk3 is completely powered by electricity. Its electric powertrain is capable of producing 429 hp of power as compared to the power of Audi SQ7. The Mk3 is capable of accelerating from 0-100 kmph in just 2.8 seconds. The Alauda Mk3 can go up to 1,640 feet in the air.
