Do this work quickly, otherwise your salary will stop

New Delhi. The Income Tax Department can take a tough stand to link the Aadhaar number with the PAN card number (Link Pan Card to Aadhar). The department, which has extended the deadline nearly 13 times, can now direct employers to withhold salaries of such employees who have not linked their PAN number with Aadhaar.

According to highly placed sources, the department has issued circular to the companies and instructed them to link the Aadhaar and PAN of their employees. If employees do not link PAN with Aadhaar by June 30, then companies can withhold July salary. It is worth noting that recently the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) had adopted the same method to link PF account with Aadhaar. However, now due to the increase in the deadline, there was no chance of holding the salary of the employees. But if the account is not linked by August 31, companies can stop the salary from September.
