‘Intimate’ scene came while watching a film with dad, Taapsee Pannu shared anecdote

Mumbai. Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane’s new film, ‘Haseen Dilruba’, pays homage to the Hindi pulp thriller. The trio were asked in a new interview whether they have ever been caught watching ‘hot’ movies.

Vikrant Massey admitted that she was watching something with her cousin, which she should not have seen, during that time her aunt came. Harshvardhan Rane recalled watching a B-grade film where you had to watch a boring film just to see a couple of scenes. Meanwhile, Taapsee Pannu said that after growing up, there used to be strange restlessness in the house when an ‘intimate scene’ was seen while watching a film with the family.

Taapsee told RJ Siddharth Kannan in an interview that, ‘Dad mostly used to watch English action films.’ ‘We only had one TV, so if dad started watching, we’d have no choice but to watch the same movie. We didn’t go out to watch movies. It is normal to have love making or intimate scenes in movies, but it becomes very strange when your teenage daughter is sitting next to you watching a movie. We are both sitting there and it happens that we are all starting to sweat, and we are trying to understand who should do what. He said that the “very obvious” way for him to divert attention from this peculiar way was to suddenly go to get water, or change the channel. This has happened to me, but it is not as if someone has caught…’

Directed by Vinil Mathew and written by Kanika Dhillon, ‘Haseen Dilruba’ is releasing on Netflix on Friday. This is Vikrant’s fourth consecutive Netflix project after ‘Cargo’, ‘Dolly Kitty’ and ‘Woh Chamakte Sitare’ and ‘Ginny Weds Sunny’.
