Yes, you read them right! Talking about the same, Aamir said at an event in Mumbai in 2015, ‘I don’t like to show you violence. I am sure there are a lot of young people who have loved the show. I think it was a violent show. Karan and Arjun are my friends and I scolded them and said that I am not impressed by it. I am not someone who can laugh at abuses and bad language, I think I have crossed that age. I am not 14 years old who will laugh at abuses, I am not impressed. I personally have a problem with what they have done, that’s why I haven’t seen the show. I thought this is not my type of show, so I did not watch this show.’
Elaborating, Aamir said, ‘I have not seen that roast yet, but I have heard a lot about it and I have seen 2-3 clips of it. I was very impressed by it and was most disappointed by what I was hearing. I totally believe in freedom of expression, no problem, but we have to understand that we all have some responsibilities too. When I heard what was being told I thought it was a very violent incident. I don’t like such things. Violence can mean not only physical, but also verbal. When you insult someone, you are doing violence in a way. When you are abusing or insulting someone, you are showing the world how violent you are.
On the work front, Aamir will next be seen in ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’, which will feature Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead role. The film will also feature his ‘3 Idiots’ co-star Mona Singh. The film is the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood film ‘Forrest Gump’, starring Tom Hanks.
