The company has introduced the first glimpse of its first Grand Cherokee 4xe plug-in hybrid model SUV on the occasion of 80th anniversary of Jeep brand. The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is the company’s fourth plug-in hybrid model after the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, Compass 4xe and Renegade 4xe. According to the information, it will be offered with the same engine and PHEV system that has been offered with the Wrangler 4Xe. This means that the Grand Cherokee 4xe could be offered with 4WD electric mode, which allows the Wrangler 4xe SUV to be taken off-road on electric power alone.

The Grand Cherokee 4xe SUV will be offered with some new and different features. This includes peer-to-peer charging where one PHEV cab directly charges another PHEV via a cable. Along with this, biometric recognition and autonomous off-road driving are also included.

The fifth generation Jeep Grand Cherokee is expected to arrive in India by the end of 2022. However, this SUV will be assembled in India just like the older models of Jeep. No official information has been given about the launch of this SUV in India yet.
