Madhav Moge, who became famous for the mimicry of ‘Thakur’ of ‘Sholay’, died, the actor was battling cancer

Mumbai. Famous mimicry artist Madhav Moghe passed away on Sunday, July 11. According to media reports, he was battling third stage lung cancer. He worked in Bollywood superhit films ‘Damini’, ‘Ghatak’, ‘Vinashak’, and ‘Partner’. He gained popularity by mimicking Thakur of the classic film ‘Sholay’. He worked in many comedy shows of TV. The actor was 68 years old.

He made his debut in Bollywood with the hit film ‘Damini’ released in 1993. Sunny Deol, Rishi Kapoor, Amrish Puri and Meenakshi Sheshadri played lead roles in this film. He was called a copy of veteran actor Sanjeev Kumar because of his mimicry style. He also used to mimic Utpal Dutt and Rajkumar. He played the character of Thakur of ‘Sholay’ in the show ‘MTV Fully Faltu’.

He was last seen on screen in the film ‘Jana Pehchan’ released in 2011. In this, Sachin Pilgaonkar and Ranjita Kaur played lead roles. He also showed his acting skills in Marathi films. He has hosted many stage shows in the country and abroad. Madhav’s wife also passed away on June 21 last month. She was suffering from kidney related problems and was on dialysis.
