China’s exports grew 32 percent in June, import growth slowed

New Delhi. China’s exports saw a sharp increase in June 2021, while export growth slowed during this period. According to data released by China’s customs department on Tuesday, exports grew 32.2 percent to $281.4 billion in the period under review from a year ago. This figure was 28 percent in May 2021.

On the other hand, imports in May increased by 36.7% to $229.9 billion, compared to a 51 percent increase in imports in the previous month.

China led the global economic recovery during the pandemic, and Chinese exporters benefited from a relatively early opening of the economy, while foreign competitors faced restrictions such as prolonged lockdowns.
