Good News: Now BHIM UPI has stepped outside India, launched in Bhutan, know who will benefit

New Delhi. Indigenous digital payment app (Digital Payment App) BHIM UPI, launched at the beginning of Digital India, has stepped outside the country. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today also launched BHIM UPI in Bhutan through a virtual program. During this, Finance Minister Lyonpo Namgay Tshering was present on behalf of Bhutan. During this, Finance Minister Sitharaman said that there could not have been a better country than Bhutan to launch BHIM UPI. This will help Indian tourists in cashless transactions. Not only this, Indian businessmen will also get direct benefit from this.

NIPL partners with Bhutan’s RMA
Finance Minister Sitharaman said that BHIM UPI is one of the successful experiments done by us. International Payments Limited (NIPL), the international arm of the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), has announced a partnership with the Royal Monetary Authority (RMA) of Bhutan to implement BHIM UPI QR based payments in Bhutan. During the financial year 2020-21, 22 billion transactions worth Rs 41 lakh crore have been done through BHIM UPI. Over 1000 lakh UPI QRs (UPI-QRs) have been created in five years.

RuPay card was also launched in Bhutan
FM Sitharaman said that this is a proud product of India, which we are now sharing with Bhutan. Let us tell you that earlier RuPay card has also been launched in Bhutan. It was launched in 2019 during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Bhutan. RuPay is an Indian payment gateway like Visa or MasterCard. At present, RuPay is available in many countries including UAE, Singapore, Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
