NTPC will set up Green Hydrogen Mobility Project, know where will it be established?

New Delhi: State-owned NTPC on Tuesday said its subsidiary NTPC REL will set up the country’s first Green Hydrogen Mobility Project in Ladakh. “NTPC REL has signed an MoU with the Union Territory of Ladakh for setting up the country’s first Green Hydrogen Transport Project in the region,” the company said in a statement.

NTPC REL is a 100% subsidiary of NTPC. According to the statement, the first solar installation of NTPC in the form of Solar Tree and Solar Car Port at Leh was also inaugurated on the occasion of signing of MoU. Initially NTPC has planned to run five hydrogen buses in this area.

Let us tell you that making Ladakh carbon-free is the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the first choice of foreign tourists. Taking a major action under the campaign to make Ladakh carbon-free, the Lieutenant Governor’s administration has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with National Thermal Power Corporation to build a 1.25 MW Green Hydrogen Generation Pilot Project in Leh. This is the third agreement towards clean energy generation after Ladakh became a union territory.
