Materials for making Imarti
3 cups washed urad dal (soaked in water overnight)
31/2 cups sugar
one and a half cup of water
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
500 grams ghee (for frying)
Method of making Imarti
First of all, wash and grind the lentils and add color to it. Now beat the lentils well and try adding a few drops to the water. After this keep the dal on the side for a while.
On the other hand, put sugar in water and let it dissolve on low flame. Keep stirring it continuously till the sugar dissolves completely. Cook it till it becomes stringy.
Add cardamom powder to it. After this, pour the batter through a pipe with a nozzle or a hole in a cloth and make an imarti in hot ghee. Slow down the flame so that it becomes crispy and crunchy.
Now take them out from the ghee and keep them in sugar syrup for 3 to 4 minutes. After that filter it and serve.
