New Delhi. At a time when fuel rates are skyrocketing, a group of college students in Gujarat have come up with an innovative idea to turn a normal motorcycle into an electric one. They claim that the motorcycle can run on both petrol and electricity. The motorcycle has been given a hybrid twist. In which the battery is installed to run the engine.

The powertrain is separated by a switch. Which helps the rider to decide whether to run the motorcycle on petrol or on electricity. According to the students, the battery of this bike can be run for 40 kilometers by single charge.

Bike made by the students of Rajkot This new technology has been invented by the students of VVP Engineering College, Rajkot. All these students are in their seventh semester. Dr Maniyar, Dean, Department of Mechanical, VVP College of Engineering told the media that, “The main reason for developing this is that fuel prices are skyrocketing day by day. There are many problems with electric vehicles like high price, slow charging. etc. So we thought of a vehicle that can run on both.

Travels 40 km for 17 paise – In this bike, students have installed four different batteries. It takes six hours for the battery to be fully charged. Dean further said that, a fully charged battery can run for 40 kilometers with a maximum speed of 40 kilometers per hour using one unit of electricity at a cost of 17 paise.
