Darshan Kumar reveals – Hollywood star Will Smith’s trainer trained me for ‘Hurricane’

Mumbai. Bollywood actor Darshan Kumar recently impressed cinema lovers with his character of Major Sameer in The Family Man. After this, he has also appeared in an important role in the film ‘Toofan’. This Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film in which Farhan Akhtar plays Aziz Ali aka Ajju Bhai is a sports drama and Darshan is seen playing the role of a boxer.

Darshan is known to prepare seriously for all his roles and took professional boxing training to deliver an authentic performance on screen for ‘Toofan’. He learned boxing from Hollywood star Will Smith’s trainer Darrell Foster and considers it one of the most memorable moments of his life.

Talking about the preparation, Darshan says, ‘I remember in our first meeting, Darrell said that he would teach me to take the punch and not act to take the punch. He said that he will not train me for a film, but he will train me as a real boxer. This is what the audience will feel after watching the film. They will feel that they are seeing two real boxers.

Darshan told that the entire training session with Darrell was of one month. During this, I used to train every day from 7 am to 3 pm. Darshan says ‘they were one of the best moments of my life, which I will cherish for the rest of my life’. Farhan Akhtar had told Bhasha in an interview that the film ‘Toofan’ has passionate boxing scenes, but Akhtar says the personal relationships of the characters are the lifeblood of the film.
