In this episode, cryptocurrency trading platform WazirX will soon launch a decentralized exchange. This will be for those customers who want to keep the custody of their cryptocurrency with themselves. Decentralized exchanges are marketplaces where buyers and sellers of cryptocurrencies can connect directly. In this, there is no centralized exchange as a middleman. Traders no longer need to rely on the exchange for their funds.
Wazir-Exchange launches first NFT
Nischal Shetty, founder of Wazir-X, said that WazirX is a centralized exchange. Many of our customers do not want centralized exchanges. In such a situation, we are making a decentralized exchange for them. An announcement regarding its launch will be made soon. Binance-owned Wazir-X launched South Asia’s first non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace in May 2021. In this, creators are associated with many categories like Digital Artists, Canvas Artists, Street Artists and Visual Artists. Each NFT is different and cannot be traded like a cryptocurrency. Shetty told that this platform is getting good response.

1000 days of #IndiaWantsCrypto campaign
The #IndiaWantsCrypto Twitter campaign started by Shetty completed 1,000 days on Wednesday. The campaign was launched after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) banned the country’s banks from doing business with crypto-exchanges. Its purpose was to provide accurate information about cryptocurrencies. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had in June 2021 issued notices to Wazir-X and its directors for alleged violation of the FEMA Act (FEMA). Shetty told that they are cooperating with the investigating agency and the notice is being replied to.
