New Delhi. The Narendra Modi government at the Center has increased the Dearness Allowance of central employees and Dearness Relief to pensioners in July 2021. Orders in this regard have been issued by all the departments. At the same time, some time ago, the central government had talked about increasing the basic salary of the employees soon. When a question was asked by an MP regarding this during the Monsoon Session of Parliament, the Finance Ministry has categorically refused.

‘Currently the government is not doing any thought’
During the Monsoon session, a Member of Parliament asked the Finance Ministry whether the Central Government would provide Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) to government employees as per the fitment factor of the Seventh Finance Commission (7th Pay Commission). The basic salary is also increasing. Responding to this, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary said on 28 July 2021 that no such scheme is being considered at present. He said that no proposal in this regard is under consideration at the level of the government.

Government employees got benefit like this
Central employees are currently getting 17 percent DA, but after the new order of the central government, now 28 percent dearness allowance will be available from July 1, 2021. Employees will get increased DA in the salary of September 2021. Please tell that due to Corona crisis, DA and DR were temporarily stopped from last year. Due to this, three installments of DA and DR could not be paid to the central employees. At the same time, along with DA and DR, the government has also increased the house rent allowance (HRA Hike) of government employees to 27 percent.

Basic salary was discussed to be 21 thousand rupees
Till now it was being said that if the rules of Labor Code are implemented from October 1, then the basic salary of the employees can increase from Rs 15000 to Rs 21000. According to the new draft rule, the basic pay should be 50% or more of the total salary. This will change the pay structure of most of the employees. With the increase in basic salary, the amount deducted for PF and gratuity will increase because the money learned in this is in proportion to the basic salary. If this happens, the take home salary will decrease, but the PF and gratuity money received on retirement will increase. At the same time, the labor union demanded that the minimum basic salary should be increased to Rs 21000 so that even after deducting money in PF and gratuity, there is no reduction in take home salary.
