The people of Mehroda village have named the houses built by Shagun Singh as ‘Golghar’.

Mehroda village is 30 km away from Nainital in Uttarakhand. There is an organization here, named Geeli Mitti Foundation Nainital. It was started in the year 2015. The founder of the institution is Shagun Singh, who decided to leave the dazzling life of the city and settle in the village and started building pucca houses of mud here. Of course, you will also be surprised to hear about the pucca house made of mud, but it is true.

Shagun Singh said that according to him, pucca houses are those which are eco-friendly and have the capacity to withstand natural calamities. Thinking this, he built a house for himself in the village, using natural resources, which is not only sustainable, but also in terms of modern look.

Shagun says that the weather of Mehroda village changes from time to time. Sometimes it rains very hard, sometimes it gets cold, but in spite of all these changes in the weather, there is no significant difference in the houses built by them. The people of the village have named the houses built by them as Golghar.
