Most of the pregnant women of the district still have to go to big cities like Dehradun for safe delivery and the health department is not alert despite the accidents happening one after the other. Recently, many questions are being raised in Purola after the death of a pregnant woman due to lack of timely treatment. in this matter State Women Commission President Kusum Kandwal instructed the District Magistrate to investigate have been given.

The situation is that 7 posts of gynecologist are approved in the district but only 2 posts are posted. One district hospital and one CHC in Purola. In the district, the facility of delivery by caesarean ie operation is available only in the district hospital. of the rest of the district There is no such arrangement in any health center. These poor health services took the life of a pregnant woman on Tuesday. The relatives of the deceased made serious allegations against the doctors and said that 108 service was awaited, but due to the ambulance not reaching on time, there was a delay in taking Lalita to the Higher Center.

Ambulance not found for Higher Center

Pregnant Lalita of Sarnaul village of development block Naugaon was referred from CHC Purola to Higher Center due to labor pain, but her health deteriorated before reaching Higher Center. The family took her to CHC Naugaon, where after first aid, the hospital management took the pregnant woman to a higher center. Called 108 service, but by the time the ambulance arrived Pregnant died. Doctors told that the newborn in the womb had already died.

ACMO Dr. RC Arya told that Lalita had a child from the operation about one and a half years ago. Having a second child so soon is risky, in view of which the pregnant was advised to be taken to a higher centre. He attributed the cause of death to not being able to reach the center on time during pregnancy.

This is the second incident in a week

This is the second incident of loss of life of pregnant and newborn due to lack of health facilities. On Thursday, Kajal, a delivery victim from Khaladi village of Purola, was brought to CHC Purola, where she was referred to Dehradun on sudden excessive bleeding in the normal delivery of the victim. The newborn died in a private care center while the obstetrician is undergoing treatment.
