Researchers said - will assess the life cycle of supermassive black holes with new techniques

Washington. The black hole present in the galaxy has always attracted scientists towards itself. Recent research has shown that the life cycle of supermassive black holes can now be assessed. Scientists said that the amount of dust and gas around supermassive black holes depends on the speed of their growth. They believe that black holes exist between giant galaxies.

Researchers at Dartmouth College have conducted a study, which analyzes the light from supermassive black holes. It is believed that scientists will be able to understand the life cycle of these black holes.

Light emitted from a supermassive black hole has a different color. Actually, this difference comes when viewed from different angles. According to the study, the black hole was surrounded by an active galactic nucleus (AGN) of gas and dust.

Tonima Tasneem Anna, a postdoctoral research associate at Dartmouth, said that “the knock of these objects has kept researchers mystified for a long time.”

Anna is the lead author of a recent study published in The Astrophysical Journal. “We now know that the properties of heavily hidden black holes are quite different from those of unpublished AGNs,” he said.

In the study, it was observed that the amount of dust and gas around supermassive black holes depends on the speed of their growth. When black holes feed at a high rate, they spread dust and gas around, making them appear brighter.

Anna developed a computational technique to assess how dark matter affected the observed properties of black holes. Observations showed that there was a need to modify the existing theory of AGN. Over time, we have made many assumptions about the physics of these objects.
