The long wait of candidates who have obtained B.Ed degree in the hope of becoming a teacher in Bihar schools is finally over. Now all such candidates should get ready for the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test i.e. STET, because BSEB has announced the date of STET exam. The exam will be conducted on January 28 in two shifts. The first shift examination will be held from 10 am to 12.30 am and the second shift examination will be held from 2 pm to 4.30 pm. Giving information, BSEB President Anand Kishore said that soon a list of center superintendents will be prepared along with the examination center. He told that the examination will be conducted in all the districts of the state.

Apply online from 20 to 24 December
BSEB Chairman Anand Kishor said that the attendance of all the candidates in the examination will be recorded in a biometric manner. Jammers will also be installed at all the centres. The board has already given a relaxation of 10 years in the maximum age limit in this examination, due to which the candidates who are already disappointed about the age will also be able to appear in the examination in large numbers. On the other hand, computer science candidates have also been given an age relaxation of 8 years. Along with the announcement of the exam date, BSEB has also given additional opportunity to the candidates to apply. Now candidates can apply online for STET from 20 to 24 December as well as deposit the fee within this date. From 25 to 26 December, there will be an additional chance to rectify the errors.

At present, 4.5 lakh employed teachers are employed in various schools of the state. Despite this, there is a shortage of subject wise teachers in schools. Even today there is a huge shortage of subject wise teachers in elementary to high and plus 2 schools. However, to overcome the shortage of teachers, the TET and STET pass candidates of 2012-13 have got a chance to join the planning process after a long wait. The restoration process of TET pass candidates is in the final stage, while the reinstatement process of STET candidates will also be completed soon. In such a situation, the hopes of lakhs of BEd candidates have been awakened by the STET exam conducted again by BSEB. In Bihar, work is also being done to open high schools and upgrade middle schools in every panchayat from the government level. In such a situation, soon a large number of trained candidates can get a chance to become a teacher.
