This Chinese spy ship left Jiangyin Port on July 13 and will reach Hambantota Port in Sri Lanka on August 11 and will remain till August 17. Yuan Wang 5 is used for space and satellite tracking. The launch of satellites, rockets and intercontinental ballistic missiles is tracked through this ship. It is the third generation tracking ship of the Yuan Wang series, which entered service on September 29, 2007 and was designed by China’s 708 Research Institute.

China has instructed Sri Lanka for fuel and other supplies during the ship. According to available intelligence, after 17 August Yuan Wang 5 It will go to the Indian Ocean for other research like space tracking and satellite operations monitoring. In a letter accessed by CNN-AtZ News, Sri Lankan authorities have sought to postpone the arrival of the ship “until further orders”. Indian government sources have welcomed Sri Lanka’s move and said that China should respect the sovereignty of other countries. According to sources, China has properly timed this activity to take advantage of Sri Lanka’s economic crisis to ensure that Sri Lankan ports become Chinese naval bases, which can be used by the PLA later. Sources said that the Chinese are currently shaming the people of Sri Lanka mainly for spying on India.
