It is the third generation tracking ship of the Yuan Wang series, which entered service on September 29, 2007 and was designed by China’s 708 Research Institute.
China has instructed Sri Lanka for fuel and other supplies during the ship. In a letter accessed by CNN-AtZ News, Sri Lankan authorities have sought to postpone the arrival of the ship “until further orders”.
