Pithoragarh. In Pithoragarh, the sensitive district of Uttarakhand, the rain brings with it all the difficulties. If we look at the rainfall figures so far this year, then in the last 6 years there has been the least amount of rain, yet the pictures of the devastation are frightening. This time, the maximum damage due to rain in the district has been seen in Dharchula. The incident of landslide in Eldhara near Dharchula town has created panic in the minds of the residents.

Roads connecting the high Himalayan regions are closed due to landslides, due to which thousands of people living near the China border are cut off from the country and the world. Due to this, the difficulties of the people living in these areas have increased. Continuous efforts are being made by the administration to open these roads, but the road is being blocked repeatedly due to debris coming from the hill.

Giving information about the closed routes, the Disaster Management Officer of Pithoragarh district, Bhupendra Singh has said that all possible efforts will be made to start the movement. He says that every effort is being made to open all the closed roads in the district. Help is being provided to the affected areas.

Due to the closure of 12 rural roads and two border roads in Pithoragarh district, the connectivity of Darma, Vyas and Chaudas Valley near the China border is currently closed for a long time. The administration had already made ration arrangements here. Helicopter service has also been provided here by the government for health related emergency services, but in case of bad weather, there are no other options for emergency services here.

The road connecting Darma Valley has been blocked again due to debris coming near Khet and Kanjyoti. Rakesh Tiwari of Dharchula, while addressing the problems of the local people, said that in view of the danger after the landslide in Eldhara, shops in Malli Bazar are closed here, which has affected the business a lot. Along with this, he has also talked about not getting health services to the people living in the upper areas.
