Sakurajima Volcano: Eruption in Japan's Sakurajima Volcano, high level alert issued

A volcano on Japan’s main southern island of Kyushu erupted on Sunday night, spewing ash and stones. While there is no report of any damage or injury in the surrounding cities at this time, local residents have been advised to move to a safer place. Japan’s Meteorological Agency has said that the Sakurajima volcano erupted at around 8:05 pm, when the stones emanating from it fell two and a half kilometers away.
